Low Impact Development
The interactive, instructor led training session provided guidance, resources and ‘real-life Ontario’ examples of the design of LID Infiltration Practices for cold climates. Aimed at practitioners with some understanding of LID and stormwater design, the informative session outlined the general process from desktop analysis, through design and construction.
Want to know what Low Impact Development (LID) is? It's an innovative way to manage stormwater. The approach is based on the way rainwater behaves in nature replicating a site's original hyrdrology before development and using design techniques that infiltrate, filter, store, evaporate and detain water runoff near its source.
